Housing Association installs mega pixel cameras

As part of an on going project we have added 4 new 5 mega pixel cameras with a High Definition Stream Management server. The site currently has over 40 conventional analogue cameras, but the enhanced 5 mega pixel cameras will help to identify vehicle registration plates and people due to the high definition playback. Conventional cameras are also being recorded on to the

new server in order to enhance the playback quality. While ‘live’ CCTV images always appear high quality, the playback or recorded footage is very much lower quality because of the compression used to store the images. Avigilon’s High Definition Servers can control the level of compression and therefore improve the image quality.
